Yes a very beautiful girl has been born
Born with indispensable beauty
Born with riches in beauty
Yes a beauty that surpasses that of Venus
She is black,slim and strong
In fact she's pretty and gay
Yes a black girl has been born
Shapely white eyes in a black body
Immaculate white teeth in a black skin
Black hair,black lashes
Yes a black girl has been born
Her bright black complexion
To compare to a black diamond
Makes her the miss universe of her time
Oh,beautiful girl,black girl
Yes a black girl has been born.
yes we can
A road for posterity to follow
That brought an end to anticipations, struggles, and sorrows
A road traveled by the great and mighty
A movement from a past of mediocrity to a future of a new positivity
A movement of liberation from that history
The history of being cast down upon, ridiculed, and seen as God’s backward species
We have headed and will be heading to greater victory
Showing we are not what they think, a prove to our enemies
Inferiority complex, pessimism, and prejudice being the icon of our retrospect
A life labeled with struggles, humiliations, jail, self-doubt and shame
Overcoming we have done, winning, and a new order is what the world should expect
We are finally here, a change that it will never be the same
A change that started for our liberation and emancipation
Is now our strength and cause of inspiration
With nothing the cause of an abhorred recession
A movement from Marcus Garvey, William Du Bois , Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King , Jesse Jackson, Nelson Mandela and Kwame Nkrumah
Is encapsulated into our contemporary Obama
To be continued by the unborn and unsung heroes
From the black-suited-flying-tie-wall-street negro
To the end-meet-making struggling negro in the ghettos of
From the echoes of “I have a dream”
To the trumpet blowing resonances of “yes we can”
We all can now scream
Because its time and direction of the new man.
